Reference currency rates are obtained from European Central Bank and Other countries Central banks like Deutsche Bundesbank, La Banque de France, De Nederlandsche Bank and etc.
The middle-market exchange rates are calculated using the averages of aggregated (bid and ask) prices offered by the market makers and quotes from financial institutions.

Provides up to date information about the ECP ECB Euro foreign exchange rates.
ECB updates the values daily between 2.15 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. CET

The Earth 2140 Trilogy includes the original Earth 2140 campaign along with Mission Pack 1 and Final Conflict Mission Pack. The damage caused by the long wars led both world powers to evacuate the population to recently built underground cities. Australia and most parts of Africa were sacrificed during the long wars, which lasted several decades. It's the year 2140, earth is almost completely destroyed after numerous wars and environmental catastrophes, and the people primarily live underground. The two enemy parties are the United Civilized States and the Eurasian Dynasty. In this RTS game, both are trying to conquer as much land as possible.

After numerous wars and several environmental disasters, only two world powers remain; The United Civilized States (»UCS«)and the Eurasian Dynasty (»ED«). The damage caused by the long wars forced both world powers to evacuate the population to recently built underground cities. Natural resources are becoming scarce and have to be extracted above ground. There have been a number of small conflicts between the UCS and the ED, the last of which escalated and became a fierce and bitter war - the final world war. Only one side can win. This final war will decide who will get the last of the available natural resources and ultimately rule the world.

Description of Earth 2140

Earth 2140 is a decent real-time strategy game set in the far future.

Although it tries to be different from Command & Conquer, Earth 2140 is not different enough to warrant much interest from C&C fans. The plot will be familiar to anyone who has played RTS games: two warring factions (in this case the ED and the UCS) battle for the last remaining resources on the planet. High tech weaponry and superior firepower are the new tools of diplomacy. Only one side will triumph, and only one person can determine which side it will be. Sitting at the helm of the most advanced tactical interface, you will decide which side to support, you will decide which troops come home alive, and you will decide if humanity survives to the year 2141.

The gameplay is the same gather-build-annihilate formulae we have seen numerous times before. Each side has its own units, as well as unique advantages and disadvantages over the opponent. The game introduces some innovative features to the genre (at that time, though -- these are no longer unique), such as the ability to build a unit that will cloak friendly units in the proximity, and a 'convert' unit that can reprogram damaged enemy units to make them work for your cause. The interface is clean and easy to use, and the graphics are nicely detailed. Ultimately, though, the game is a thoroughly average RTS that can at best be described as 'a marginally above-average C&C clone.' It plays well, but isn't dramatically different enough or challenging enough (compared to M.A.X. for example) to make anyone stop playing C&C long enough to notice.

'Greedy bastards' is lightly said. The makers pretty much admitted that the Windows version has completely broken AI, and that's what they're selling now. The original (working) DOS version is nowhere to be found.

If you are interested in the game, try downloading the manual which is still free, at least at this writing. (The game used to be free, now it has been gobbled up by some greedy bastards.) In reading the manual, it is easier to learn another language than to remember all the commands and so forth in my opinion. C&C is easier to play, if you ask me. And C&C is just an OK game in my opinion. Good graphics, ,atc, just a lot to learn.

We originally ran this piece five years ago, on a day when the 15th birthday of Sega's Dreamcast coincided with a major Apple keynote event. In honor of the Dreamcast's 20th birthday today, we thought we'd revisit this fun 'alternate history' take on how the Dreamcast's launch impacted the world of gaming and continues to influence it to this day.

While seemingly the entirety of the Internet was off paying attention to Apple announcing its new phones and watch, something weird was happening to my Twitter feed. Apparently, someone had messed with my settings so that my feed displayed tweets on a 15-year delay for a couple of hours. That means that, instead of Apple tweets, my followers got to go back in time and experience a portion of my liveblogging from Sega's Dreamcast launch-day keynote address from September 9, 1999.

We figure this technical snafu is as good an excuse as any to look back on the Dreamcast as it existed 15 years ago today, when it hoped to be the savior of a once-proud Sega still recovering from the failure of the Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, et al. Below are my live tweets as they were written 15 years ago, along with some accompanying commentary that has the benefit of a decade and a half of hindsight.

[Editor's Note: For those with defective sarcasm genes (or just those feeling a little bit slow today), I will state up front that these are not actually tweets from over six years before Twitter even existed. Sega didn't even have a keynote-style launch event on 9/9/99.
